Frequently Asked Questions

Silk screening or screen printing is an imprinting method where an image is transferred to a garment or other item when ink is squeegeed thru a literal screen stretched on a frame. The image will be vibrant because the ink sits on top of the fabric. This method is economical for large orders (over 24 items), but more costly for smaller quantities or runs with multiple ink colors because of the screen set-up costs. Common items to be produced are screen printed t-shirts, sweat shirts and bags.

We need to know 4 things before we can start on your custom screen printed t-shirt order.

First, what type of t-shirt do you want? There are lots of options: V-necks, tanks, 100% cotton, blended, dri-wicking just to name a few.

Second, what shirt color do you want?

Next, how many printed shirts do you want? There are production price breaks where if you order more the each cost per shirt is less. Those price breaks are: 12-36-72-144-288-432.

Finally, we need to understand the imprint you envision printed on your shirts.

Direct-to-garment printing or digital printing is an imprinting method where the image is printed directly on shirt from the computer. With DTG printing there are no screen set-ups needed. The ink literally dyes the fabric. This method is economical for smaller quantities and for images that are full color. Photographs can be printed as well. The limitation is the shirt must be light and the ink dark. There is no white ink used. There is some image loss after the first wash (about 5%), but after that the image will last thru the life of the garment. The image will not be quite as vibrant as on traditional screen printing. This process is very versatile. Common items include t-shirts, hats, tote bags and even leather!.

Embroidery is the process of stitching a logo onto a garment or other item. This is done utilizing computerized machines that read digitized instructions from a computer. Because this method uses needle and thread, complicated graphic images are not recommended. Common items include sport shirts, jackets, hats, bags and warm-up suits. There will be an itinal set-up fee called "digitizing" to translate the graphic image into instructions for the embroidery machine. GET EMBROIDERED SHIRT QUOTE
